Flooding in Reedsburg

......and the rains just dumped from the sky. Yesterday and today, my eyes have seen things they never saw before. The power of water. The photos are of Reedsburg Wisconsin (15 miles north of the Homestead). I went to the dentist this morning and couldn't park in the back parking lot, nor turn down the familiar street. I was the only patient for the day, as they were closing immediately after I left. The water was inching it's way towards their electrical power for their building.

The bridge was the only way to get home and it was expected to raise more after I left. Some area communities are locked in due to flooding and many roads are washed out. Lake Delton in Wisconsin Dells where the Tommy Bartlett Water Show is ? The Lake washed out completely and formed it's own river right across Hwy A. So that road is no more for awhile.

This photo is a new drive through bank next to my dentist office.

Lets see what's playing at the movie theater??? Waterworld..............

This view is from the parking lot towards a nearby grocery store. I seen the store employees with their pantlegs hiked up to their knees behind the sandbags taking a break, watching the water rise.
the normal view is blacktop to the street, then the parking lot in front of the grocery store.

Today's good news is that no more rain till possibly tomorrow. We are lucky to be on the hill, but not to go unscathed, we have water in our house basement under control. The small usually dry creekbed is rushing with the sounds of a waterfall behind the retreat. Water is oozing out of the ground everywhere. There is not an ounce to obsorb anywhere. I refuse to do the laundry because the septic mound just doesn't need anymore water.

So say a prayer for the folks downstream. We need to stop our ordinary lives and help those in need. They are our neighbors, our communities.

Take care , Patsy squish, squish, squish.

Holy Cow! I heard Reedburg was bad and LaValle too. I hope the Piecemakers are lucky enough to live on high ground like we two. Stay safe! Chris

I'm from Black River Falls, I was just talking to my mom this morning, she still lives there, about the rain. I live on an Air Force Base in North Carolina and someone at our base library first told me about the flooding. I hope the rain stops and you can all recover quickly.

Thanks for sharing your photos. The picture of the movie theater really shows how deep the water was. Hope things are looking better for reedsburg.
