New Years already?

Where did the year go? Many will dwell on the bad of 2009. Being the optimist that I am, I celebrate the good of 2009. We all have our health, our choices to be happy, our freedom to do anything and the opportunity for hope in 2010.

God bless all our differences and here's to the future ........ cheers.

I hope to stay with you for 2010 ! I'll being seeing some of you...... Patsy

Do Chickens shiver?

I am guessing that this one particular chicken does. Take a look at the shell of this egg.
We get a wrinkled egg about once every other week. Not sure if this chick has the jitters or what. I don't even know which one lays these. It is from one of the new red chicken girls however.
Oh well, the shell is as hard as any egg shell, just with wrinkles. Hey, maybe there are scrambled eggs inside!

Christmas family at the Inn

It was fun to host my niece and nephew and their families and my brother and sister in law.
........ and it was nice to share their grandchild with us. What fun you are Nathan!

Just a few miscellaneous photos about Christmas.............(the newly painted living room)
Well, it's all about the baby!!
3 wise dudes
My best friend, Juice
My Christmas tree in the house this year sporting all white reindeer. The old plastic/celluloid and blue/white balls with all blue lights. They have been lit since I put the tree up. I keep them lit 24/7 and that is why I have an artificial tree. Too scared to do that on a real one. Though I love real trees and believe we should all support our tree farmers. It IS the green thing to do.
I buy 250 feet of real garland every year for around the cabin's deck. And 3 real wreaths with the red dogwood. Love it!

More Christmas around the cabin - still haven't remembered to get photos out there.

My calendar that is posted on my website is now current and working again. Thanks for all the emails on availability.
( Just in case you want to know, I had to add Foxfire and go through there and do my changes. )

....getting ready for Christmas today. More baking and cleaning. The wrapping is done. I will remember to get some photos of the Christmas transformation out in the retreat when I get back out there.

Winter and Hunting Leftovers

The birds were loving what Marty put out for them. When all was said and done we had about 14" of snow. More 'after' photos later. These were all 'during'.
Juice was in his favorite spot on the couch in his favorite position.
Polly was catching what little sunlight there was coming in between snowflakes.
Maxi found a cozy spot while the snow piled up outside.
I finally got the last of the Venison meat canned.

This is my favorite pic. They keep a log book or journal of the hunting so I started the long overdue tradition of a group hunting photo.

Last group for 2009

The group photo in two shots. I wanted to get in the pics this time since I was a 'guest' too. What a FUN group. I'll let you just keep guessing about the reason behind the location of the group photo. It's a first! You had to be there. :D

If you line up enough rulers........ it just might reach.
Carol and Lisa cooking up a storm in the kitchen for this 'PotLuck' weekend. Everyone brought just wonderfully tasty food. All promising to share recipes. Each group of friends prepares just one meal.

The pile of half squares are a sneak peek of Primitive Gathering's new book they are working on. A very early peek It will be available at the Rosemont Quilt show in 2010.

I was mesmerized by Carol's exquisite workmanship on this wool crazy patch.

Some of the cuty pincushions I seen around the tables.

I (Patsy) make such a mess when I sew. I clip and trim directly to the floor. Always have. I think it is easier to sweep up after than to take the time to hit the wastebasket.
